Cortland, Dansville, Mt. Morris, Caledonia, and Nunda Commercial Revitalization Projects Description: The state of New York Urban Development Corporation sponsored the Commercial Revitalization Projects to help revitalize the economies of New York State main streets. This work consisted of renovations to the more than 100 storefront facades. Most of the buildings in these villages are late nineteenth and early twentieth century buildings, and are either in or are eligible to be in a Historic District. The buildings were in need of repair, partially because of deterioration, and partly because inappropriate modern work had been done. The construction work included brick, wood, glass, door, window, and flashing repairs, restoration, or replacement. All work had to be approved by the New York State Historic Preservation Office. Preservation: Dansville, NY Lehigh Valley Passenger Station, Sayre, PA Description: This historic 1881 two story former passenger station will be renovated for a Historical Society Museum, transportation center, and borough offices. The work includes exterior brick restoration, window and door repair and restoration, as well as interior renovation, and new heating and air conditioning system, and a new elevator. Storefront Renovation: Mansfield, PA Boissiere House Restoration, Port of Spain, Trinidad Description: This work included a Report and Recommendations for the preservation of this unique and elaborate 1903 residence on the Savannah in Port of Spain. Recommended work include exterior painting and wood repair, stucco repair, and interior paint and wood work restoration. The building will be restored as a residence and family run museum.
